Example - a Fail vs a Success

Hey guys,

Lots of cool stuff hapening.....I thought Id share my latest Fail....and then my reshoot SUCCESS that followed.

FAIL

SUCCESS

The biggest difference in the 2 soots was that one of them I only had 2 jobs...the other I was pushing 6....Ha!!

its WAY ....easier to concentrate with less variables......

good news......I am down to 2 jobs....and am excited to say goodby to the other by the end of next week.....things are starting to really go into finishing mode here.

I plan on takeing off a couple of days next week to finish the last interior shots.....as well as 3 weeks in June - July just to take a vacation! sweeeet!!!

I got a bunch a cool new stuff to share with you guys and shels got some cool info to share too....

As usual, your animation is superlative. Your results are a benchmark that I aspire to attain.

Just ain't no way.

I don't understand where the failure is? Was it not framed right? Both takes looked great. Are you using foam bodies with clay heads?

Thanks guys!

I should explain!

SHOT 1 FAIL-

the comeing off the wall didnt feel natural.

The animation was way too POPPY!
The head was all over the place.

the camera pan was not clean-{It actually happened by accident- I bumped the cam}

an lastly his ending was Frozen...No weight -no follow through- and no settle.

all of those issues bugged the crap out of me...I had to fix them

and did{ME HAPPY!!}

I must agree with the others here Justin, you must have been seeing something wrong with the first take that I just didn't see. I thought both were animated beautifully! Matter o' fact, I wish my successes were as good as your "failures".

Beautiful stuff dude. You could make a full length film out of your discarded shots, and it would look pretty darn good.

Hey man, I saw some flicker in the second shot with the dog, but I've got just the thing for that:

http://neuron2.net/deflick/deflick13b1.zip

It works super good, just make sure to resize the "window" setting in the filter's prefs in Virtualdub to "100".

In fact, while I'm at it, I'm going to download the Success vid, take out the flicker, and then send it to you to show you what the filter can do. *talking to the dog* Would you like that, boy? *scratches Gerald behind the ears, then looks back to Jriggity* Hey, it's the least I can do. You've been with me in my progress every step of the way.
