Its truly like a little christmas present waiting as I pull my truck up to the House. Man, those ships are looking incredible!!! And they're HUGE!!!

If it's not an insider secret, could you mention how you're shaping the foam (what kind of tools) and what kind of glue you're using?

wait wait wait...you were in the same category up against the big boys of CG and schooled them? Awesome! I better start building my stopmo skills so I'll be ready when you open your Feature film studio and need grunts :)

Looks like somebody's playing with Van Aken! You gotta get your hands on some of the aged Avalon clay, man. That stuff is like the FINE WINE of Claymation clay. Smooth consistency, takes easy tooling, and it's a bit firmer than Van Aken. I believe Bruce Bickford has a ton of it, he was animating clay long before Van Aken was around.

As far as the bit about doing the right thing and the doors flying open- I second that. These past few months have been beyond amazing. It seems that the more I hang around Portland and go to events, the more animators I meet. It's a crazy fun journey I don't ever want to end.

The ship is just looking soooo amazing. And it is very big. How big is your set going to be for this film? I would love to see your post about shaping the foam for the ship.
